About this file
This document is an Exhibit 05 detailing Fire Department Connection (FDC) specifications and installation requirements. The technical drawing and accompanying photo provide detailed instructions for relocating and installing a fire department connection, with specific notes on implementation and testing. Key requirements include:
Installation specifications mandate 6-inch diameter bollards, clear signage identifying the FDC system type (e.g., "AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER," "STANDPIPE"), 36-inch clearance around the connection for fire department access, and ability to handle required flow rate and pressure. The contractor must verify dimensions, add specific bollards, and perform critical testing steps including system testing prior to relocation, ensuring check valves operate properly, connections are obstruction-free, and hydrostatic testing is completed following relocation.
