About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for a VA construction project at the Palo Alto Health Care System. The solicitation (36C26125R0089) seeks comprehensive construction services to modify the Building 100 Loading Dock area, specifically involving the relocation of one existing trash compactor, installation of two new trash compactors, and a new cart wash station for Environmental Management Service (EMS). The project is limited to contractors awarded the VISN 21 Multiple-Award Construction Contract (MACC) Group 2, with a site visit conducted on October 2nd, 2025, and proposal submissions due by October 28th, 2025 at 8:00 AM PDT.

Key project details include a 175-calendar day duration, on-site utility work, temporary catwalk and guardrail installations, and utility connection requirements. The RFI addresses 25 contractor questions covering site logistics, vendor coordination, utility access, and project constraints. Notably, the VA will allow the superintendent to serve dual roles as SSHO, provide temporary power access, and grant a two-week bid submission extension. Contractors must provide their own restrooms, dumpsters, and comply with OSHA guidelines for temporary structures and safety systems during the loading dock modifications.
