About this file
This Estimated Project Quantities document outlines the work scope for the Iowa Department of Transportation's Davenport Tile Boring Replacement project (RFB #645-RFB-1746-2025). The project encompasses subdrain pipe replacement, steel encasement installation, topsoil management, erosion control, seeding, and traffic control measures. Key deliverables include 544 linear feet of 4-inch non-perforated dual-wall HDPE subdrain pipe, 325 cubic yards of topsoil stripping and spreading, 50 linear feet of 8-inch minimum steel encasement for trenchless boring across Ramp D, 0.20 acres of mulching with certified noxious weed-free straw, 0.20 acres of stabilizing crop seeding and fertilizing, 700 linear feet of silt fence installation, 700 linear feet of perimeter and slope sediment control devices, and comprehensive traffic control for work near I-80 and I-280. All work shall comply with Iowa DOT Standard Specifications Series 2023 and applicable supplemental specifications. The bid opening is scheduled for May 7, 2025 at 5:25 PM CDT, with bid closure on May 29, 2025 at 1:00 PM CDT, and estimated project completion by November 15, 2025.
Payment shall be on a unit price basis per linear foot, cubic yard, or acre as applicable for each line item, with the contractor's lump sum mobilization costs included as a separate item. Steel encasement payment is based on the linear footage of encasement actually installed, measured to the nearest foot. Contractors are required to register with the Iowa Department of Workforce Development and must comply with traffic control restrictions prohibiting lane closures on I-80, I-280, or interchange ramps; work within 15 feet of the traveled way requires Standard Road Plan TC-402 installation. Performance and payment bonds may be required if the contracted amount exceeds $25,000. All subdrain work includes removal and disposal of existing tile and accessories, with all necessary fittings and materials included in the unit price. Mulching materials must be certified noxious weed seed-free per Iowa Crop Improvement Association standards, and reseeding shall be performed at the contractor's expense if damage occurs due to contractor negligence during the contract period.
