PDPS Database Parameter Monitoring Matrix
Monitored Parameter
Description
BGDumpUsedPct
The BGDumpUsedPct parameter reports the percentage of space used in the entire background dump directory.
CoreDumpUsedPct
The CoreDumpUsedPct parameter reports the percentage of space used by trace files in the core dump directory for the monitored Oracle Server.
ExtentsLeftPct
This parameter graphs the percentage of extents that are left in a non-excluded object in a non-excluded user schema. If all non-excluded objects have unlimited extents then this parameter will not have a value even if active. Does not handle rollback segments.
FreeSpaceDeficit
The FreeSpaceDeficit parameter is a Boolean value that indicates whether there is at least one segment that cannot allocate its next extent because of insufficient space.
InstanceStatus
The InstanceStatus parameter shows the current status of the instance. If the parameter is in the OK state, the instance is successfully responding to a simple query. If the parameter is in the warning state, the instance is not successfully responding to a simple query, but the instance is not configured as an instance that is Always Online. If the parameter is in the alarm state, the instance is not successfully responding to a simple query and it is configured as an instance that is Always Online.
PctUsed
The PctUsed parameter shows the percentage of space that is allocated in the monitored tablespace.
RSExtentsLeftPct
The RSExtentsLeffPct parameter reports, for non-excluded tablespaces, the percentage of extents that are available to any rollback segment.
RSSpaceLeftPct
The RSSpaceLeftPct parameter reports the percentage of space left in non-excluded tablespaces with the least amount of space left and contain rollback segments. If all the non-excluded tablespaces with rollback segments are autoextensible (other than the SYSTEM tablespace), this parameter is deactivated.
RedoNotArch
The RedoNotArchived parameter reports the number of redo log files that have been written but not yet archived, excluding the current online redo log file. This information may be used to alert the database administrator that the archiving process is falling behind.
SystemTSLeft
The SystemTSLeft parameter shows the number (in Mb) of space left in the SYSTEM tablespace. The annotation upon alarm reports the segments in the SYSTEM tablespace in descending order of size. If the SYSTEM tablespace is autoextensible, this parameter is deactivated.
SystemTSLeftPct
The SystemTSLeftPct parameter displays the percentage of space left in the SYSTEM tablespace. If the SYSTEM tablespace is autoextensible, this parameter is deactivated.
UserDumpUsedPct
The UserDumpUsedPct parameter reports the percentage of space used in the user dump directory for the monitored Oracle Server.
DiskSorts
The DiskSorts parameter shows the percentage of all sorts which were not performed in memory during the previous polling interval. The annotation for this parameter reports all delta values that were used in the calculation for the current polling cycle.
ProcsLeft
The ProcsLeft parameter shows the number of additional processes that the instance can support. The annotation for this parameter reports the total number of processes by user in descending order.
ExtentsLeft
The ExtentsLeft parameter reports the number of extents that can be added to the non-excluded object in a non-excluded user schema that has the least number of extents left. If all non-excluded objects have unlimited extents then this parameter will not have a value even if active. This parameter does not handle rollback segments. Only permanent tablespaces are monitored by this parameter. To monitor temporary tablespaces, you must use TempTSLeft and TempTSLeftPct.
SessionsLeft
The SessionsLeft parameter shows how many additional user sessions will be allowed by the instance in its current configuration. The annotation reports the total number of sessions by user in descending order.
TransLeft
The TransLeft parameter reports the number of transactions left available to be started against the Oracle instance. The annotation reports the total number of transactions by user in descending order.
FreeSpace
The FreeSpace parameter shows the percentage of space available in all non-excluded, dictionary-managed or locally managed, uniform or system allocated non-autoextensible tablespaces.
LatchGetRatio
The LatchGetRatio parameter shows the percentage of attempts to acquire a latch that are immediately successful.
LibGetHitRatio
The LibGetHitRatio parameter reports the percentage of all attempts to lock library cache entries that were immediately successful.
BuffHitRatio
The BuffHitRatio parameter shows the ratio of physical data blocks read to requests for data blocks.
DictHitRatio
The DictHitRatio parameter reports the percentage of all requests for data dictionary attributes that are resolved from the dictionary cache (also referred to as the row cache).
ListenerStatus
Reports the status of the listener. Alarms when the listener is down.
ArchFreeSpace
A consumer parameter that provides the total number of archive logs that can be created in this mandatory destination.
OracleStatus
The OracleStatus parameter shows the current status of the instances on the Oracle Server. This parameter ignores instances in blackout mode or shutdown from within PATROL, to prevent false alarms during instance maintenance.
Alerts
The Alerts parameter provides information about the default Oracle errors or user-defined errors written to the alert log for this instance. By default, the Alerts parameter alarms only when it detects an ORA-006XX error. The ORA-006xx errors are used by Oracle to report internal exceptions. You can modify the errors that are monitored by the Alerts parameter by using the Error Log Filter menu command.
