About this file
This document is a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Zero Tolerance Policy from the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC), developed in compliance with Department of Justice national standards. The policy mandates that all volunteers and contractors be informed about the agency's zero tolerance approach to sexual misconduct, including staff/contractor/volunteer on inmate or inmate-on-inmate sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual abusive contact, and consensual sex.
The policy outlines multiple reporting mechanisms for potential sexual misconduct, including a dedicated PREA hotline (775-887-3152), an email address (prea@doc.nv.gov), a mailing address (Nevada Department of Corrections, Office of the Inspector General, P.O. Box 7011, Carson City, NV 89702), and the agency website (www.doc.nv.gov). Any staff member, contractor, or volunteer who engages in, fails to report, or knowingly condones sexual misconduct may be subject to disciplinary action and potential criminal prosecution. The document includes a signature section for acknowledgment of understanding the zero tolerance policy.
