About this file

This solicitation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District New York seeks maintenance dredging of portions of the New York and New Jersey Harbor and Port Jersey Channel. The work includes removing approximately 370,000 cubic yards of selected shoals from the channel to a depth of -50 feet MLLW plus 2 feet allowable overdepth using mechanical dredging equipment. Dredged material consisting primarily of silt, sand and clay will be transported via ocean-going barges and tugboats for placement at the Historic Area Remediation Site approximately 5 miles east of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. Offerors must be able to commence work within 5 days of notice and maintain minimum daily production rates of 1,000 cubic yards when dredging over utility corridors and 6,000 cubic yards elsewhere. The total cost of work is estimated between $5-10 million and should take place between June 2020 and January 2021, with liquidated damages of $2,144 per day for delays. The award is anticipated in June 2020 through an unrestricted procurement conducted by the New York District.
