About this file
This solicitation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District New York seeks maintenance dredging of portions of the New York and New Jersey Harbor, Port Jersey Channel. The work includes removing approximately 370,000 cubic yards of selected shoals from the channel to a depth of -50 feet MLLW plus 2 feet allowable overdepth, using a mechanical dredge with a clamshell environmental bucket. Multiple ocean-going split hull barges and tug boats will transport dredged material for placement at the Historic Area Remediation Site approximately 5 miles east of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The dredged material must meet all federal, state, and local criteria. The contractor must commence work within five calendar days of receiving the notice to proceed and maintain minimum integrated production rates of 1,000 cubic yards per day over the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission Utility Corridor and 6,000 cubic yards per day elsewhere in the channel. The contract is estimated to cost between $5-10 million and will be awarded in June 2020, with all work anticipated to be complete by January 2021. Liquidated damages of $2,144 per calendar day will be assessed for delays.
