About this file
This solicitation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District New York seeks maintenance dredging of portions of the New York and New Jersey Harbor, Port Jersey Channel. The solicitation requires the removal of approximately 370,000 cubic yards of selected shoals from the channel to a depth of -50 feet MLLW plus 2 feet allowable overdepth, using a mechanical dredge with a clamshell environmental bucket. Multiple ocean-going split hull barges and tug boats will be needed to transport and place the primarily silt, sand and clay dredged material at the Historic Area Remediation Site approximately 5 miles east of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The contractor must commence work within five calendar days of receiving the notice to proceed and maintain minimum integrated production rates of 1,000 cubic yards per day when dredging over the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission Utility Corridor and 6,000 cubic yards per day elsewhere. The work is estimated to cost between $5-10 million and take place from June 2020 to January 2021, with liquidated damages of $2,144 per calendar day of delay.
