About this file

This solicitation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, seeks maintenance dredging of portions of the New York and New Jersey Harbor, Port Jersey Channel. The contractor will be required to remove approximately 370,000 cubic yards of selected shoals from the channel to a depth of 50 feet MLLW plus 2 feet allowable overdepth using a mechanical dredge with a clamshell environmental bucket. Multiple ocean-going split hull barges and tug boats will be needed to transport and place the dredged silt, sand and clay at the Historic Area Remediation Site approximately 5 miles east of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The contractor must commence work within 5 days of receiving the notice to proceed and maintain minimum integrated production rates of 1,000 cubic yards per day when dredging over the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission Utility Corridor and 6,000 cubic yards per day elsewhere. The work is estimated to cost between $5-10 million and take place from June 2020 to January 2021, with liquidated damages of $2,144 per day of delay. The agency intends to award the contract in June 2020.
