Other drivers may be trained through 902 CES/CEOA or by one of the certified individuals mentioned above.
Thoroughly coordinate work with the control tower through the Contracting Officer. Submit projected weekly schedule 7 working days in advance. In the event of a start time for paving has been approved and coordinated, and the contractor does not start; the coordination cycle may require the full 7 days before a new start will be allowed. Maintain radio communication with the tower during work performance. Radios shall be provided by Randolph Air Force Base, by hand receipt and turned in to 902 CES/CEPM by end of project.
All vehicles entering the flightline must enter through an approved entry point & the operator must stop & perform a complete check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris). Entry onto the flightline shall not be made from Golf Course Road or the taxiway. Insure that all vehicles are clear of mud, rocks, debris or any loose materials when crossing over the south taxiway on Golf Course Road or entering the flightline from any of the authorized entry points. Establish locations for material and equipment storage. Coordinate approval of storage of material and equipment with Airfield Management.
Complete, or substantially complete, all work in an area before commencing work in any other area unless prior approval is obtained from the Contracting Officer.
Plan work so as to provide access for aircraft and emergency vehicles at all times.
The contractor shall use a vacuum sweeper to remove dust and debris to prevent possible Foreign Object Damage (FOD) to jet engines caused by ingestion. A vacuum sweeper will be maintained on location during all operations that may generate dangerous particles.
The site will be maintained to prevent material or debris from migrating outside of the work area due to normal activity and normal wind conditions. If notified of material or debris outside of the work area due to unusual activity or weather conditions, the contractor will coordinate with Airfield Management to ensure aircraft movement and aircraft maintenance operations are not affected. The contractor shall ensure daily cleanup is accomplished to ensure possible FOD material is secured to prevent migration outside of the site.
1.30 RESTORATION AND CLEANUP
All excavations other than building foundations, must have site restoration (sod, hydromulch, pavement or other scheduled restoration), completed within 14 calendar days (excluding approved rain delay days) after excavation has been initiated.
Restoration. Turf areas, pavements and facilities that have been damaged from any operation including driving on turf, shall be restored to original condition at no additional cost to the Government.
Turf Area Preparation. All areas that have been disturbed by any of the demolition, construction, maintenance, repair work, or driving vehicles or equipment, shall be thoroughly prepared for new turf by tilling the soil to a minimum depth of 152mm 6 inches.
