About this file
This document provides details for a solicitation to upgrade the security of the P5 Combat Training System. The Air Combat Command requires implementation of an encrypted P5CTS data link to protect tactics and training methods and allow fourth generation aircraft to engage with the F-35 during training missions. Bidders are sought to obtain retrofit kits through full and open competition procedures. The kits will replace obsolete data security equipment with a Data Security Module that uses NSA-certified Type 1 encryption and a modified end cap, interface cables, and associated hardware. The engineering, production, documentation, and management of the System Security Update kits is the subject of this solicitation issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center located at Hill Air Force Base.
