About this file

This is a site work and environmental specification document for Sarasota County, Florida's Vault Room and Oil Room Project (IFB #262820MKM) at the Breeze Transit facility located at 5303 Pinkney Avenue, Sarasota. The project scope includes conduit installation work connecting multiple rooms within the facility, specifically running 2" Schedule 40 PVC conduit approximately 250 feet from the Vault Room to both the Electrical Room and IDF#1 Room, with a secondary conduit run of approximately 225 feet of 2" EMT from IDF#1 Room to IDF#2 Room in the Maintenance building. All conduit runs require pull strings, weather-tight fittings, adequate hangers to prevent pipe sag, long-radius sweeps to accommodate fiber optic cable constraints, and junction boxes with maximum two sweeps between boxes. The site work includes installation of commercial-grade Ultra UAF-200 aluminum fence panels with a flat top rail design, featuring 10 pre-assembled panels across 5 openings with 5 columns and base plates, 30 side mounts to concrete columns, and maximum 500-pound pressure capacity on the top rail. Environmental conditions note that the Vault Room expansion area is positioned 12 feet from the wastewater tank and 44 feet from foam-filled tanks, with the Bus Wash Building measuring 3,800 square feet exterior and 4,200 square feet interior. Bids are due August 26, 2026, with Substantial Completion required within 147 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

The project is funded in whole or in part by the Federal Transit Administration, which mandates Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements, 100% performance and payment bonding, Buy America Act domestic preference for materials, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation goals. Contractors must meet minimum qualifications including demonstrated experience within seven years on two building additions of at least 400 square feet each, fluid dispensing system installation in active industrial environments, replacement of two or more overhead doors in commercial or industrial facilities, and exterior stucco repair and painting on commercial or government projects. A 5% bid bond is required, with 100% performance and payment bonds required for bids of $200,000 or more. Insurance requirements include Workers' Compensation per Florida Statutes Chapter 440, Commercial General Liability of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Business Automobile Liability of $1,000,000 combined single limit, and Umbrella/Excess Liability of $2,000,000 each occurrence and aggregate. Liquidated damages are assessed at $400 per day for delays beyond Substantial Completion and $100 per day for delays beyond Final Acceptance. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest total bid price, provided the bid is reasonable and in the County's best interest. Bidders must submit through OpenGov Procurement at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/scgov.

Overhead View of Conduit Run

Notes

Two conduits run parallel from the Vault Room to the Electrical Room. One conduit to extended to the IDF Room.

Trench runs along red line

16” x 16” x 6” deep Junction Box (6). Two sweeps are allowed between junction boxes maximum as a fiber optic cable constraint.

Long radius sweeps required to not damage fiber optic cables.

Each conduit run is approximately 250 feet with pull string throughout.

All weather tight fittings as required by code.

2” Schedule 40 PVC conduit runs

Prevent pipe sag with adequate hangers.

(End - Conduit run from IDF#1 Room and Electrical Room to the Vault Room)

Conduit run from IDF#1 Room to IDF#2 Room in the Maintenance building

Notes:

Follow the existing EMT run from the IDF#1 through the east wall to an exterior junction box.

Then run the new EMT into IDF#2.

Junction box is required because of 2 long sweeps.

Hang new EMT conduit next to the existing 2” EMT that runs down the center of the building.

Drill hole in the floor to access the junction box in the IDF#1 Room.

The EMT conduit needs to go through the wall to the exterior wall mounted junction box

Drill through the wall and mount a junction box over the opening. Ensure all exterior work has weather tight fittings and is watertight.

This junction box will connect to the interior of IDF#2 Room. Drill a hole and install a bushing.

16” x 16” x 6” deep Junction Box (3). Two sweeps are allowed between junction boxes maximum due to a know constraint of running as a fiber optic cable.

Long radius sweeps are required. Tight radius bends will damage the fiber optic cables.

The EMT conduit run is approximately 225 feet with pull string throughout.

All weather tight fitting as required by code.

2” EMT run. Follow the existing run from the IDF#1 room to the east wall.

Prevent pipe sag with adequate hangers.

(End - Conduit run from IDF#1 Room to IDF#2 Room in the Maintenance building)

Ultra UAF-200 commercial aluminum fence panels come with a flat top rail and the look of a wrought iron or steel fence. All Ultra commercial grade fence has a powder coating, which prevents peeling and cracking, and is a high quality alternative to paint. Powder coating will keep your fence looking great for many years, unlike occasionally painting an iron or steel fence.

Ultra commercial grade fence panels come in pre-assembled, pre-cut heights and widths.

You can trim down the fence panel to fit your fence run. Ultra gates have a welded frame for strength. Ultra UAF-200 commercial aluminum fence panels can support 500 pounds of pressure on the top rail. Commercial aluminum fence panels by Ultra have visible screws on one side of the panel. Face the screws to the inside of the bus wash building.

Ultra Fence is made in the USA and ships from a production facility in Michigan.
