Axis Communications brand name justification:
The Requirement is for the upgrade of the currently installed Axis Communication CCTV System at the Dorms of Aviano Air Base, Italy. The System consists of 239 individual cameras spanning 8 dorm buildings, the entirety of the Dorms Campus, and dorm parking lots, all feeding into the central control unit which provides management and control of the entire system. The upgrade requires the cameras and supporting equipment to be the same brand as the one currently installed, Axis Communications, or they will not interface correctly with the currently inst6alled CCTV System, resulting in functionality and security issues and significant increased costs (getting cameras from a different brand would mean having to acquire an entirely new CCTV System). This justifies the use of brand name Axis Communications for this acquisition IAW RFO 12.102 (a) and RFO12.202 (b)(1)(iii).
