About this file

This file contains test hole (pothole) reports prepared by VacX for the City of Beaverton, Oregon, documenting subsurface utility investigations conducted along SW Hart Road and SW Sorrento Road in connection with CIP 4211, a waterline improvement project. Four test holes (TH #40 through TH #43) were excavated between July 18 and July 22, 2025, to identify and map existing water utility infrastructure prior to construction. The investigations revealed multiple water lines including 16-inch cast iron pipes (TH #40 and #41), a 12-inch ductile iron pipe (TH #42), and a 4-inch ductile iron pipe (TH #43), all running beneath the roadway at varying depths. Each test hole report documents pavement core thickness (ranging from 6 to 9 inches of asphalt concrete), estimated pothole dimensions, precise elevation measurements, horizontal and vertical distances from reference points, and utility cover depths. The reports include cross-sectional sketches, material specifications, and directional orientations (North-South or East-West) for each utility line encountered.

All test hole investigations were prepared by Jason Jones of VacX, with contact information provided for utility coordination through the City of Beaverton's Utility Coordination Service at (541) 505-5074. No utility tell-tales were set at any of the test hole locations. The detailed subsurface data captured in these reports—including elevations ranging from approximately 209 to 210 feet and cover depths varying from approximately 1.6 to 1.9 feet—provides the foundation for safe construction planning and utility avoidance during the CIP 4211 waterline rehabilitation project scheduled for the Hart Road traffic circle area.
