PART B. QUESTIONS/RESPONSES

Question 1: Can non-applicable electrical specification sections be removed from this ITB?

Response 1: No; the RCES Electrical Specification is a reference manual.

Question 2: The Scope of Services indicate Contractor should assume the radiator valves will not hold oil and we should include the cost of fully draining and vacuum filling. Two part question: When was the last time the valves were closed/exercised? If the valves do hold oil, is draining and vacuum filling still required?

Response 2: Owner’s operations team attempted to close the valves on the transformers a few years ago, but the valves did not work. However, even if the valves do work, oil draining and vacuum filling is still required.

Question 3: The Scope of Services mentions “Relocate radiators”. Where are the Owner-furnished radiators located

(distance to job site)? Are they on pallets?

Response 3: All radiators will be located within the respective substations to which the work will take place.

Question 4: Have radiators been stored oil filled, nitrogen filled, or dry air filled?

Response 4: The radiators have been stored dry air filled.

Scope of Services. Should the repair/replacement of these be included in the bid? If so please provide information on these valves.

Response 7: Please provide a unit price for a valve leak repair in the EXHIBIT C – Schedule of Unit Prices for Approved Additional Work. These repairs will be addressed outside of the base bid price.

Question 8: At the EPCOT Substation the bid references ten (10) radiators per unit. However, there are only eight (8) on each. Please confirm.

Response 8: There are only eight (8) radiators per transformer at the EPCOT Substation. The EXHIBIT A – Scope of
