BPS Bid Package No. 8 - HS Gymnasium Scoreboard
This is a competitive bid package issued by Birmingham Public Schools (BPS), a Michigan school district, for the installation of high school gymnasium scoreboards at two facilities: Groves High School and Seaholm High School. The project encompasses the supply and installation of indoor video scoreboards and standard scoreboards, along with associated public address systems, electrical infrastructure, demolition of existing equipment, painting, and all related construction services. The contract utilizes the AIA A201-2007 General Conditions of the Contract for Construction and AIA A101-2017 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor. The project is part of the 2020 Bond Program funding initiative. Specific response dates, bidder conferences, and award dates are not detailed in the provided document, which focuses primarily on contract terms and conditions rather than solicitation timeline details.
The contract is structured as a stipulated sum agreement with the contractor responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, permits, fees, and licenses necessary for project completion. The contractor must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including general liability with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, workers' compensation, and automobile liability of $1,000,000 per accident. Performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract sum are required. The owner retains 10% retainage from progress payments, with final payment due upon substantial completion and acceptance of all work. The contractor shall complete a post-occupancy audit eleven months following substantial completion and provide twenty-three months of call-back services. All work must comply with Michigan Building Code requirements, asbestos-free product certifications, and comprehensive safety and environmental standards. The project is funded through the Birmingham Public Schools 2020 Bond Program.
