About this file
This specification document outlines requirements for oil-only absorbent boom products for an annual master agreement in Maine. The requested product is an oil-only absorbent boom with specific dimensional and performance requirements: five inches in diameter by ten feet in length, packaged with four booms per bale, shrink-wrapped and palletized not exceeding eight feet in height. Each bale must absorb a minimum of 30 gallons of oil. Bidders must provide a sample boom at their own expense prior to contract award for departmental testing and evaluation. Descriptive literature of the proposed boom product must accompany bids.
The sample boom will be tested for volume of oil absorbed, absorbency speed, oil retention, water refusal, and abrasion resistance. Bidders must provide minimum order sizing for best pricing and include shipping costs to the designated destination. No specific construction materials are mandated, and "universal" absorbent boom products will not be considered for this procurement. The specification does not reference response dates, award dates, contract term details, pricing structures, or funding sources in the provided documentation.
