About this file

This is a Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) document for housing inspectors at USAG Wiesbaden DPW Housing Division, effective October 31, 2024. The SOP establishes procedures for managing and monitoring four types of Army Family Housing inspections: assignment inspections, pre-inspections, termination inspections, and vacant quarters inspections.

The document details specific requirements for each inspection type, including scheduling through the eMH database, documentation requirements, and inspection protocols. Key operational requirements include: inspections must be conducted between 0730-1630 hours with contractors providing three inspectors; detailed procedures for handling keys/key fobs; documentation of housing conditions; verification of appliances and equipment; and specific processes for both contractor-cleaned (T/CL) and occupant-cleaned (T/OC) termination inspections. The SOP also includes comprehensive checklists for vacant unit inspections covering general safety, mold, pests, water systems, appliances, flooring, and cleaning standards. Contractors must provide inspectors with duty mobile phones for communication and photo documentation purposes.
