About this file
This is a Bid Bond form for a construction project issued by the State of Colorado Office of the State Architect, State Buildings Programs, on behalf of the Colorado Department of Corrections Facilities Management Services. The project, designated SCCF1701, involves the installation of a temporary chiller docking station. Bidders are required to submit proposals with this bid bond as a condition of participation. The bond must remain in effect for thirty days following the opening of proposals. If a bidder's proposal is accepted, the principal must execute the required agreement, furnish performance and labor/material payment bonds, provide insurance documentation, and submit certification and affidavit regarding illegal aliens within the prescribed timeframe.
The bid bond amount is set at five percent of the bidder's total proposal price, with this sum designated as liquidated damages in the event of default. The bond serves as a proposal guaranty and protects the obligee against bidder non-performance. The bond must be executed by an authorized corporate officer (President or Vice President) with attestation by the corporate secretary and proper corporate seal, or alternatively, properly signed by an individual or partnership principal. A surety company authorized to conduct business in Colorado must execute the bond as well, with the surety's signature provided by an attorney-in-fact accompanied by a properly executed power of attorney. Failure to provide a properly executed bid bond with corresponding power of attorney documentation will result in the proposal being deemed non-responsive.
