About this file

This is a Plans and Procedures document serving as an Acceptance Criteria List (ACL) for the CRMF Cleanroom and Ultra Pure Water (UPW) Subsystem, document number CRMF-1.4-PP-319. The document establishes verification and testing requirements across multiple phases of construction and commissioning for a single subcontract deliverable combining both the cleanroom and UPW subsystems at SLAC's Cryomodule Repair and Maintenance Facility in Menlo Park, California.

The ACL specifies detailed acceptance criteria organized into five verification categories: Requirements/Design Verification, Materials/Parts Inspection Criteria, Fabrication/Assembly Inspection Criteria, Factory Acceptance Testing Criteria, and Site Acceptance Testing Criteria. Materials and parts inspection includes 12 line items covering specifications for ULPA filters, piping materials (hard drawn copper per ASTM B88, PVDF for UPW), nitrogen distribution tubing and fittings (seamless UHP 316L with specified surface finishes), chilled water insulation, and electrical conduit. Fabrication and assembly inspection encompasses 11 items addressing AHU case insulation, damper specifications, circuit setters, air filter configurations, LED lighting, electrical labeling, internal surface cleaning, and nitrogen subsystem preparation. Factory Acceptance Testing includes 4 criteria for smoke detection, air velocity limits (450 fpm through cooling coil, 400 fpm discharge), and air leakage requirements (no greater than 0.5% at 150% operational capacity). Receipt inspection covers 16 items addressing cleanroom floor provisions, raised floor levelness (±1/16" over 10-foot spans), piping labeling per ASME A13.1, ductwork specifications (SMACNA Class 6/3), HVAC control system monitoring parameters, electrical receptacles (ISO4 type), and nitrogen/compressed air distribution sizing. Site Acceptance Testing includes 11 criteria for achieving ISO4 and ISO5 cleanroom ratings, ESD flooring compliance (less than 3.5E7 ohms per ANSI S20.20), temperature control (66°F ±2°F), humidity maintenance (40-60% RH), positive pressurization (0.06" WG differential), and UPW system performance specifications (18.2 MΩ-cm resistivity, 2 PPB total organic carbon, flow exceeding 4 feet per second).

These two subsystem deliverables are defined and procured under a single subcontract scope. Thus, verification planning will be combined under this single ACL.

Verification and Testing Requirements Requirements/Design Verification Technical requirements allocable to Cleanroom and UPW subsystems (CRMF-1.4-TS-211, SRF Cleanroom and UPW Specification) have been incorporated into subsystem design definition by SLAC, with assistance from its architectural and engineering support subcontract. Engineering drawings and material/equipment specifications provide the basis upon which fabrication, assembly, inspection and test will proceed. This document identifies user requirements that are expected to be verified throughout the construction and commissioning process. Code compliance verification will be performed by the SLAC Building Inspection Office (BIO) and its support service subcontracts.
