Seismic and Wind Requirements
Seismic Requirements, IBC-21 Section 1704.3
Description of seismic-force-resisting system and designated seismic systems subject to special inspections:
The seismic resisting system consists of existing masonry shear walls for all buildings supporting wood, light gauge metal deck, or concrete on metal deck diaphragms. The site is Seismic Design Category A, and therefore the construction of any new masonry walls is not subject to special inspections based on seismic-force-resisting requirements. The housing blocks also have some wood shear walls supporting the wood diaphragms in those buildings.
Wind Requirements, IBC-21 Section 1704.3
Description of wind-force-resisting system and designated wind systems subject to special inspections:
The wind-force-resisting system consists of the same elements noted above. The site is not subject to special inspections based on wind-force-resisting requirements.
