About this file

Addendum 2 is a document issued by Brevard County Purchasing Services for Bid Number B-2-25-27, addressing the Landfill Stormwater Collection & Gas System Repair & Installation project. The addendum provides clarifications to questions submitted by prospective bidders, covering details such as material specifications, pipe sizing, emergency response requirements, and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) oversight. The bid opening date remains unchanged, scheduled for Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with all other terms and conditions of the original bid package remaining unaltered.

The addendum specifically addresses five key questions from potential bidders, including clarifications on material bid items, HDPE pipe sizing, sodding, emergency response timeframes for well drilling, and CQA requirements. The county indicates that sodding will be addressed by the owner, and that the 24-hour emergency response time does not apply to well drilling mobilization and drilling activities. The county suggests that for most tasks, CQA may not be required, but their department can provide oversight if necessary. The document maintains the original bid's structure and intent, providing additional transparency and guidance to potential contractors bidding on the landfill infrastructure repair and installation project.

ADDENDUM 2

TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

This is an Addendum to and shall be considered as part of the original bid package for the above-mentioned bid. Please acknowledge receipt of Addendum 2 in space provided on Price Sheet. Bidders are requested to acknowledge receipt of this addendum with their bid.

CLARIFICATION TO QUESTIONS RECEIVED:

Question 1: Item 4 on the Price Sheet describes two materials in one bid item; Hydrotex FP 600 and 2,500psi Grout. Can these materials be broken out into separate material bid items?

Answer: No

Question 2: Is the HDPE pipe listed on the Price Sheet to be Iron Pipe Size (IPS) or Ductile Iron Pipe Size (DIPS)?

Answer: Iron Pipe Size (IPS)

Question 3: Can a new bid item be added to the Price Sheet to allow for a unit price for sodding?

Answer: Sodding will be addressed be addressed by the Owner

Question 4: The Scope of Services requires a maximum response time of 24 hours for emergency repairs. Although Drill Rig Mobilization and Drilling are listed on the Price Sheet as “Optional Services”, if the need arises for this work, will it also be considered “emergency” work and must adhere to this 24-hour maximum timeframe?

Answer: No

Question 5: The Scope of Services requires a maximum response time of 24 hours for emergency repairs. Considering the well drilling bid items, it is highly possible that well drilling companies will be scattered around distant areas and will not be able to respond and mobilize to the site within a maximum of 24 hours, much less begin and complete well work in that same timeframe. Does this requirement also apply to well drilling mobilization and well drilling?

Answer: No

Question 6: Will the County provide CQA for all work we perform?

Answer: Typically, the tasks undertaken are relatively minor, and the involvement of a CQA may not be required. If necessary, our department can provide oversight if needed.

Please note that the bid opening date and time remains Monday, January 27,2025 @ 10:00 AM.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Sincerely, Sherry Collett Purchasing Supervisor
