About this file

This is a Tax Schedule Matrix (Attachment M) for the North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR) RFP 45-RQ161211 Tax System Modernization project. The document outlines various tax types, their filing frequencies, and associated statistics for Fiscal Year 2023. The matrix covers several major tax categories including Individual Income Tax, which generated $19 billion in revenue and $2 billion in refunds from 5 million returns, and Sales and Use Tax, which processed 1.7 million returns generating $18 billion in revenue with $764 million in refunds.

The matrix details specialized tax types such as Alternative Highway Use Tax ($139 million in revenue), Scrap Tire Disposal Tax ($29 million in revenue), White Goods Disposal Tax ($8 million in revenue), and Dry-cleaning Solvent Tax. Each tax type has specific filing frequencies (monthly, quarterly, or annually) and due dates. The document provides comprehensive data on the number of returns, payments, revenue collected, and refunds issued for each tax category, serving as a reference document for the tax system modernization project.
