About this file

This document is a Commonwealth response to vendors' written questions for RFP 758 2300000080, issued by Kentucky Tourism. The project involves the installation and management of interactive kiosks at multiple visitor centers throughout Kentucky. The kiosks will be installed indoors in climate-controlled environments at various Welcome Centers, with hard-wired data connections available at all locations. The Commonwealth intends to deploy the kiosks as soon as possible following contract award. Vendors are required to submit only one proposal per the RFP requirements, with no alternate proposals permitted. Traffic counts at visitor centers vary by location, and photographs of proposed installation sites were not available at the time of the question response. Warranty support requires a 48-hour response time for diagnosis of issues.

Key operational considerations include that visitor centers operate 24/7, eliminating access restrictions for installer activities. The Commonwealth maintains an approved lodging options list that may be provided to the awarded vendor, along with current Kentucky Tourism branding materials and graphic files. Outside advertising on kiosks in exchange for revenue share and content sharing between Kentucky Tourism, local Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), and the kiosk network are both open to discussion with the selected vendor. The Commonwealth currently operates a SimpleView content management system and is actively upgrading Welcome Centers to better accommodate kiosk system installations. No outdoor kiosks are required for this project.
