About this file

This document is an Attachment E to a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity. The SOW details the requirements for bi-annual testing and maintenance of the AMEREX dry-chemical fire extinguishing system installed at the Senate Furniture Spray Booth located in the Government Printing Office Building. The system must be inspected and maintained per the manufacturer's requirements and NFPA 17 (2017 edition). The SOW also requires the contractor to evaluate the existing system for proper nozzle selection, placement, and orientation, as well as interconnection of systems if necessary. The contractor must provide 6-week notification to the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) prior to performing inspection and testing activities to coordinate access and impairments with the Government Printing Office (GPO) staff. The SOW lists the specific equipment under the contract, including the quantity of AMEREX industrial fire protection systems and associated cylinders due for hydrostatic testing in 2024.

Dry Chemical/Furniture Spray Booth Suppression System Information

Perform complete bi-annual testing and maintenance on the AMEREX system per the manufacturer’s requirements and NFPA 17 (2017 Ed.). Inspection shall also include an evaluation of the existing systems for the proper nozzle selection/placement for the given hazard and orientation/installation to the hazard and interconnection of systems if necessary. The dry-chemical fire extinguishing system on the Senate Furniture Spray booth is located on the fourth floor of the Government Printing Office Building at 732 North Capitol St NW, Washington, DC 20401. This is not an Architect of the Capitol Building so contractor must provide AOC with six (6) week notification prior to performing I&T efforts so access and impairments can be coordinated with GPO staff.

Contractor performing dry chemical suppression system inspections must be capable of completing repair, maintenance, addition and demolition work on systems. When issues with this system arise, cost estimates for corrective actions shall be included in final report.
