About this file
This is a price sheet attachment for the 5041 Frederick House Demolition Project solicited by Brevard County Purchasing Services on behalf of the Public Works Department in Florida. The procurement requests bids from qualified general, building, or demolition contractors licensed in Florida to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision necessary for the complete demolition and removal of a one-story residence constructed in 1964 (approximately 1,652 square feet), a 392-square-foot attached garage, a 120-square-foot screened porch, concrete slabs, fencing, landscaping, and trees located at 5041 Frederick Avenue, West Melbourne, Florida 32904. Sealed bids must be submitted by March 31, 2026 at 10:00 AM (Bid Number B-2-26-33), with a question deadline of March 23, 2026 and a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and walk-through scheduled for March 16, 2026 at 9:00 AM at the project site. The contractor must achieve Substantial Completion within 30 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed and Final Completion within an additional 30 calendar days. All bids must remain firm for 90 days from the opening date.
The price sheet establishes a lump-sum structure with a base bid cost covering all work described in the bid documents, including an allowance of 400 cubic yards of clean fill dirt. Clean fill dirt is defined as all-natural soil consisting only of sandy soils free from stones, rocks, organics, oil, paint, and other deleterious materials, certified by the supplier. A unit price per cubic yard must be provided for clean fill dirt; if the required quantity is less than 400 cubic yards, the County receives a credit for unused material based on the unit cost, while quantities exceeding 400 cubic yards are subject to unit pricing and authorized change orders. No specific set-asides or incumbent vendors are identified. For contracts exceeding $200,000, a construction bond equal to 100 percent of the contract price is required within five days of award, with a bid bond required upon submission. Payment is processed in accordance with the Local Government Prompt Payment Act with five percent retainage held until Final Completion. Maximum allowable overhead is five percent, profit five percent, and bond charges two percent on net change order increases.
