About this file

This document is Attachment D - Linen Quality Standards for a Request for Proposal (RFP #02212025MC) issued by the University of Utah Health. The attachment provides comprehensive quality standards for various types of medical linens, including top sheets, contour sheets, pillowcases, bath blankets, mattress pads, thermal spreads, bath towels, wash cloths, gowns, adult pajamas, baby shirts, diapers, pediatric items, scrub shirts, pants, tunics, and OR towels. The standards cover physical condition, stains, and finish requirements for each linen type, with specific guidelines on acceptable sizes, holes, mending, and stain limitations.

The document also includes Linen Cart Quality Standards, which outline requirements for linen delivery carts, including cleanliness, wheel condition, cart markings, and usage protocols. Linens that fail to meet the specified quality standards are to be placed in a reject linen bag and returned to the laundry facility for credit. The detailed standards suggest a rigorous approach to maintaining high-quality, hygienic linens for hospital and clinical use, with particular emphasis on items that come into direct contact with patients.
