Irrigation Drawings Summary for Mile Square Regional Park Smart Irrigation Controller Project
This is a set of irrigation conversion plan drawings prepared by d.d. Pagano, Inc. for Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley, California (16801 Euclid Street), dated October 25, 2024, related to Orange County's competitive bid solicitation for Smart Irrigation Controllers and Master Valve/Flow Sensor with Professional Services. The project involves the removal and replacement of eight existing automatic irrigation controllers (designated V, U, T, R, S, O, P, Q, FH, M, and N) with new WeatherTRAK automatic controllers (designated 1 through 8) throughout the park. The new controllers include varying station capacities: Controller 1 (36 stations), Controller 2 (24 stations), Controller 3 (24 stations), Controller 4 (48 stations), Controller 5 (72 stations), Controller 6 (24 stations), Controller 7 (48 stations), and Controller 8 (36 stations). All new controllers must include a ten-year data plan and be installed by WeatherTRAK Levels 1 through 4 certified managers, with installation requiring a WeatherTRAK Controller Inspection Report upon completion. The project also includes installation of a new 6-inch master valve and flow sensor assembly downstream of the existing backflow preventer and integration of this assembly into a networked system controllable by all new controllers.
The technical scope requires extensive field coordination including confirmation of existing electric control valve locations, heat stamping of new station numbers on valve box lids, installation of recycled water identification tags, replacement of wire connectors with new GPH GDBRY6 connectors, and upgrading of existing electric control valve boxes to specified standards. The contractor must investigate all existing irrigation systems designated to remain prior to work commencement and report any damage discovered, with responsibility for repairs at no additional cost to the owner if damage is found after evaluation reports are submitted. All electrical work must comply with applicable codes, with grounding required to existing rods or newly installed full-length grounding rods with minimum #6 bare copper wire. The contractor is responsible for obtaining HydroPoint Data Systems or approved HydroPoint authorized distributor commissioning services and bearing all associated costs. Initial programming of controllers must provide water needs based on existing plant material and site conditions until formal commissioning services are completed. Installation supervision and technical assistance are available through Erik Anderson at SiteOne Greentech at (949) 285-4048.
