About this file

This file is a detailed fabrication specification document listing tactile models, reproductions, and interactive exhibits required for the Ninety Six National Historic Site. The document contains specifications for over 20 unique items including Revolutionary War era reproductions (pickaxe, axe head, scissors), natural materials (deer pelts, leather), architectural elements (bricks from colonial jail), and interactive exhibits (mine tunnel crawl-through, terrain models, flip books).

Each item specification includes dimensions, material requirements, quantity needed, fabrication source, reference numbers, and detailed narratives for construction. The items range from small tactile models (5" x 5") to large interactive exhibits (96" long terrain models). Materials specified include metal, wood, leather, brick, epoxy, and high-pressure laminate. Many items require historically accurate reproductions matching 18th century artifacts, with requirements for durability and safety in a public exhibition setting. The document includes reference images and potential vendor sources for historically accurate reproductions. All items will be fabricated by an external fabricator, with some requiring commissioned artwork from Cherokee artists for cultural authenticity.
