About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) from the Department of the Army related to the Self-Propelled Howitzer-Modernization Evaluation program. The RFI provides a draft Scope of Work, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL), and other attachments for industry review and feedback. The Government is seeking input on the draft documents, including any issues or recommended changes, in order to update the requirements for a future solicitation.

Key details include: the Government is requesting industry feedback on a reasonable timeline for delivery of the self-propelled howitzer ecosystem to Yuma Proving Grounds, the quantity and type of personnel needed on-site, potential reductions to the test plan, willingness to provide 3D CAD models and a ported cannon tube, achievability of CDRL delivery timelines, and any export administration regulation issues. Responses are due by 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on 5 December 2024. The Government is not seeking quotes, bids, or proposals at this time, and will not pay for any costs incurred in responding to this RFI.

Distribution Statement A* - Approved for Public Release; distribution unlimited.

(*Distribution Statement A only applies when form is not filled in)

General instructions:
1) This data will be used to create a NATO Reference Mobility Model (NRMM) in the Mobility Analysis Tool (MAT) or Mobility Analysis Tool-Computer Edition (MATCE).
2) Fill out all the tabs from "TrackedVehicles" to "VehDyn UID" for regular tracked vehicle.
3) Data can be entered as one data value per cell, or data for multiple axles can be entered separated by commas in the same cell. Example: 1, 1, 1
4) Standard units for NRMM are English units, write a comment if SI/metric values are entered.
5) Use the comment field to identify units, data source, or any other useful information.
6) Blank spreadsheet is unclassified, once filled out handle as CUI or equivalent

VehDyn UID

Underside Impact Detection (UID) Profile - Geometry Bottom Profiles: "Ground clearance of the vehicle along the vehicle length"
NOTE: The standard UID data file models the section of the vehicle along which the wheels are located, describing the underside between the wheels, ahead of the first wheel and behind the last wheel.

The reference point is: 1) pintle or fifth wheel for wheeled vehicles, 2) centerline of rear sprocket/idler for tracked vehicles. X measurements begin at the FRONT of a vehicle. X value at reference point thus is zero. All trailer values are negative. All Z values are measured from the ground for the tire deflection cases for Mud/Sand/Snow and other off-road cases. X is longitudinal, Z is vertical.

Ensure that the Vehicle ID matches the correct vehicle.
