About this file
This file is a technical attachment for ITB 26-139, a Small County Outreach Program (SCOP) resurfacing project administered by Citrus County, Florida, detailing roadway construction specifications at typical intersection joints. The project involves resurfacing W. Mustang Boulevard, a two-lane road extending approximately 3,300 feet per lane from W. Mesa Verde Drive to County Road 491 (Lecanto Highway). The scope of work includes milling 1.5 inches of existing pavement and placing a 2-inch thick lift of FC-12.5 friction course asphalt with PG 76-22 polymer binder at Traffic Level C in accordance with FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, FY 2025-26. Additional work encompasses exposing and cleaning pavement edges, temporary and permanent pavement markings per current MUTCD criteria, shoulder grading with positive drainage provisions, sodding, installation of new reflective pavement markers (R.P.M.s), and correction of roadway deficiencies below FDOT and County standards.
Attachment B specifically illustrates the typical roadway intersection joint configuration, requiring that the first two feet of each side road turnout apron be butt milled and paved with friction course only in conjunction with mainline paving, with joints saw-cut at 90-degree angles to the existing side road pavement edge. The butt milled portion must be thoroughly tacked prior to paving, with this milling work considered incidental to the overall contract. The successful bidder must furnish all labor, materials, consumables, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the project, with asphalt to be sourced from plants listed on the current FDOT Asphalt Mix Design Plant Assignment Sheet and submitted with the bid proposal.
