About this file

This document is a Technical Specifications file for road improvements at Saddle Mountain State Natural Area, prepared by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) for a public infrastructure project. The project involves comprehensive road rehabilitation, including mobilization, erosion control, traffic management, asphalt milling, base grading, aggregate placement, hot mix asphalt concrete installation, and culvert marker placement. The work is located within the Saddle Mountain State Natural Area and will involve road surface reconstruction, with specific requirements for a 16-foot wide roadway, including a 2-inch base and 1.5-inch overlay of hot mix asphalt concrete. The project is identified by Project Number 37498 and Contract Number 12192, with technical specifications dated January 2025.

The contract includes detailed measurement and payment provisions, with compensation based on unit prices for specific work items such as mobilization, erosion control, traffic control, and various road construction activities. Payment will be calculated using weight tickets for aggregate and asphalt materials, with measurements made to the nearest 0.01 ton. The contractor is responsible for all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals required to complete the work, with specific requirements for traffic control, safety measures, and coordination with park management. The project emphasizes maintaining park access, emergency vehicle routes, and minimal public disruption during construction, with strict guidelines for work hours, notifications, and site management.
