About this file

This document is a Project Specifications for the Saddle Lake Slide Gate Replacement and Celina Dam Structure #1 Valve Replacement, revised May 10, 2015.

The specifications require the contractor to furnish and install complete stainless steel sluice gate assemblies at multiple dam locations. For Saddle Lake Dam, a Model HG560 Heavy Duty slide gate measuring 18 x 18 inches with a design seated head of 30 feet is required. For Celina Lake, a 20 x 20 inch gate with a 55-foot design seated head is specified. Both gates must be manufactured from stainless steel (ASTM A240/A240M Type 304L or 316L) and include frame, stem, stem guides, wall brackets, and rising stem operator systems. The gates must be installed on downstream walls in the "wet" chamber and meet AWWA C561 standards. The contractor must also replace all trash rack grating and angles, including hardware, and comply with OSHA confined space entry requirements with certified workers. The pedestal-mounted hand wheel lift (Hydro Gate CPS2) must feature a Type 304 stainless steel stem with plastic stem cover and mylar position indicator. All components must be sealed to limit leakage to no more than 0.05 U.S. gallons per minute under design seating head conditions, verified through post-installation testing per AWA C561. The contractor is responsible for removal and disposal of existing equipment, site cleanup, erosion control, damage repair, field-verified dimensions, and provision of "As Built" drawings. The manufacturer must provide a one-year warranty covering materials and workmanship.
