2.0 Background

The Sand Pond Interpretive Boardwalk is an educational trail that traverses over Sardine Creek and through a wet meadow near Sand Pond. The boardwalk and trail bridge have fallen into severe disrepair. Most of the boardwalk has been removed for safety purposes. A small section of the existing wooden boardwalk and damaged trail bridge are all that is left. This project is to replace the boardwalk with a new accessible one with passing spaces.
