About this file
This Statement of Work specifies requirements for full-sized deep snow/mountain snowmobiles to be procured by a federal agency. The equipment must weigh less than 470 pounds with dimensions not exceeding 45"-55" in height and 44" in width. Each unit requires a minimum 9-gallon fuel tank, electric starter, push-button reverse engagement with audible alarm, hand and thumb warmers with multiple settings, reversible ice scratchers, and storage capability for a spare belt without folding.
The detailed specifications mandate a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled motor with minimum 840cc displacement and 160 horsepower, a track measuring minimum 165" length by 15"+ width by 2.5"+ depth, and high-performance suspension and braking systems including RAS 3 (or equivalent) front suspension, HGP Plus (or equivalent) front and track/center shocks, KYB Pro (or equivalent) rear shock, and Brembo (or equivalent) high-performance brakes with adjustable lever. Additional requirements include a 34"-38" adjustable ski stance, narrow running boards with large openings, and a belt monitoring system. The document notes a preference for Ski-Doo brand snowmobiles to maintain consistency with currently owned equipment for training continuity and operator safety. The specification justifications emphasize that the longer track provides increased surface area for deep powder performance, the higher horsepower delivers improved throttle response at elevations above 8,000 feet, and the adjustable ski stance facilitates fundamental sled maneuvers.

Would prefer Ski Doo to keep snowmobiles that we currently have the same for better training safer due to better understanding and continuity between various equipment.
Adherence Explanations (SOW)
Track length selection of 165” X 15”+ X 2.5”+ longer track means more surface area for less chance of getting stuck in deep powder. Increased horsepower improves low end throttle response. This throttle responsiveness is throughout the throttle range and can be especially effective at elevations greater than 8,000 feet above sea level.
A 34”-38”+ Adjustable ski stance is a ski width that helps to assist in getting the machine on edge easier (which is necessary for any basic sled maneuver).
