Title: Care of GORE CHEMPAK XRT Suits
CDP COBRATF PCE WI 001.0
I. Purpose
Application to the care of GORE CHEMPAK XRT suits using the Wascomat W640 laundry machine.
II. Supersession
This is the initial issue of this work instruction.

VII. Standard Operating Procedures
A. Prepare suits for laundering. Inspection criteria will be 12 uses or fails.
1. Dust off any gross soiling and fully close the main zipper
2. Sort suits to nominal load size batches of twenty-seven (27) pounds each, acceptable range being 26.5 – 30 lb.
a. If there are fewer suits that required to make the batch weight, than makeup the weight using clean ballast material to reach the 27 lb requirement.
B. Laundering instructions
1. Set the Wascomat machine cyle to the WARM setting (instruction manual fig. 5 pg. 12).
2. Only use standart reference detergent AATCC 1993. WOB (without optical brightener
– orange label).
3. Do not use bleach or any other fabric treatments.
4. Measure the following detergent amounts for each laundry load.
a. Pre-wash Detergent 1 0 grams (Do not use prewash)
b. Main wash Detergent 2 7 grams (0.24 oz.)

5. Place the measure amount for the main wash detergent into the marked location on the machine.
6. Load the prepared batch of suits into the machine and close the door.
7. Check the maching is set to the WARM cycle.
a. Warm water temperature must fall in the range of 70 – 120F.
b. Extraction centrifugal force should not exceed 100G.
8. Execute the laundry cycle.
C. Post Laundry Operations
1. Once the full cycle is complete, remove the suits.
2. Shake each suit to remove excess water from the outside.
3. Invert the suit (arms, legs and hoods) and hang until the suit is dry.
Note: do not attempt to invert the fingers of the gloves.
4. Once the inside of the (tan) suit is entirely dry, return the suit to the correct orientation (black side out.
5. Hang until the outside is dry. The suit is now ready for reuse.
D. Confirmation required.
1. Check the warm water falls in the rangfe of 70 – 120F.

To establish procedure for use of the GS Respirator Washer /Dryer.

A. Operating Instructions (Respirator Washer)
1. Load soiled equipment into baskets, (maximum 16 respirators).
2. Load baskets into washer.
3. Select machine cycle (Short cycle 28 Minutes)
4. Close the door.
5. Press the start button to begin.
NOTE. To pause or stop the cycle: Open the door. When the machine is paused, the indicator lamp will blink. Press start to resume. The machime is unable to reset during the disinfect segment of a wash cycle to prevent over foaming.
B. Operating Instructions (Respiratot Dryer)
1. Turn on dryer.
2. Temperature and Time setting are user adjusted. (120 degrees for 2 hours)
3. Place respirators in dryer.
4. Push Start button
