The project requires the contractor to supply and install nine units of two-hour (2 HR) UL-classified fire-rated assemblies around critical electrical and mechanical equipment. Deliverables include three double-leaf and six single-leaf fire-rated hollow metal door assemblies (factory-fabricated and UL 2 HR labeled), fire-rated wall construction around the 15 kV step-down transformer room, low voltage/ATS room, oil boiler room, UPS room, and diesel fire pump room, and firestopping of all penetrations with UL-approved systems. Specific doors include: Door N1 (Boiler room West, 1680x2100 mm), Door N2 (Boiler room to locker room, 900x2000 mm standard), Door N3 (Boiler room East, 930x2100 mm), Door N4 (Fire Pump—new installation, 900x2000 mm standard), Doors N7a and N7b (Low Voltage Electrical room, 930x2100 mm each), Door N6 (UPS, 930x2100 mm), and Door N8 (Mechanical room entrance, 1680x2100 mm). All doors must comply with NFPA 80, EN 1634-1 fire resistance standards, and local Spanish codes. Wall assemblies must be constructed from finished floor slab to the underside of the structural concrete deck above and sealed with fire-rated sealants. The contractor must conduct a required site visit and survey prior to bid submission, obtain all local permits, and submit a complete document package including product data, shop drawings, and a finalized work plan with Critical Path Method schedule before award. Post-award submissions must include certificates of compliance with UL listings, as-built drawings, and inspection reports from certified inspectors. The project schedule requires work to begin within five calendar days of Notice-to-Proceed, with final proposal design of fire-rated doors due 10 days after NTP and project completion within 90 calendar days including final cleanup. The contractor must comply with Spanish construction standards and U.S. Embassy Madrid security clearance and access requirements. A safety program must be submitted 10 days prior to work start, and performance inspections by certified fire door and firestop special inspectors are required per NFPA 80 and ASTM E2174/E2393 standards.
