About this file
This is a Debris Recovery Statement template for post-demolition and construction projects in Monterey County, California. The form requires contractors to document and track the disposition of all waste materials generated during project execution, with a mandatory minimum recycling/reuse rate of 60 percent.
The statement requires contractors to complete a detailed materials table identifying each waste stream (asphalt, brick, cardboard, carpet, concrete, dirt/clean fill, drywall, metal, pallets, plastics, plant debris, roofing materials, clean wood, treated wood, and other materials) and designating whether each material category was reused, recycled, or disposed. For each material, contractors must identify the specific facility or service provider receiving the materials and document the weight in tons. Materials reused on-site must include a description of the reuse application, and salvaged materials from deconstruction should be designated as reuse. The form requires contractors to attach copies of receipts, gate tags, or other verifying documentation to support all reported dispositions. The Material Generation Synopsis section requires calculation of total tons generated, total tons disposed, total tons salvaged/reused/recycled, and the percentage of materials recycled or reused. Supporting resources are available through the County of Monterey's Builders Guide to Reuse and Recycling website.
