About this file

This is an Additional Specifications document for Request for Bid (RFB) 23-27 issued by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) for custom signs and hardware. The specification document details requirements for three primary sign categories: Street and Directional Signs (9" tall, variable length up to 25 characters, white legend on green or blue background, Type IV sheeting, MUTCD compliant, double-sided, mounted on galvanized U-Channel posts with vandal-resistant hardware); E911 Addressing Signs (ranging from 12" x 12" to 12" x 36" aluminum blanks depending on character count, black on yellow background, Type IV sheeting, single-sided, with four corner holes); and Vertical E911 Numbered Address Signs (6" wide with variable height based on character count, white on red background, double-sided, Type IV sheeting, mounted on galvanized 4-foot U-Channel posts with tamperproof hardware). All signs must utilize Highway Series C font with specific character heights and brush stroke dimensions and comply with the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

Vendors are required to submit mockups for fourteen different sign type configurations for NHDOT review and approval prior to manufacturing, along with product cut sheets detailing materials and specifications for all components. Signs and ancillary materials must be individually wrapped and packaged by site location within specific District/Bureau delivery locations, with labeling indicating District/Bureau, crew, site location, and a complete list of signs and installation materials. The vendor bears full responsibility for replacing any signs or materials damaged during shipping at no cost to the State within two weeks of notification. Delivery instructions and locations will be provided in the Purchase Order, with orders placed by NHDOT for each Bureau and District.
