The existing generator and automatic transfer switch (Installed 2004) shall be factory recommissioned for the Woods Hole, MA Laboratory. This generator and automatic transfer switch provide power during the frequent power outages on Cape Cod and achieve compliance with National Fire Protection Association NFPA 110 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems. Without this generator and automatic transfer switch during a power outage the laboratory will not have electricity and all systems would be not functioning to include heat, air conditioning, IT server rooms, lights, exposing the property to property and life risks.
1.2 SCOPE
The Contractor shall factory recommission one (1) existing Kohler 350REOZV 350KW Diesel Generator, factory recommission one (1) existing General Electric (GE) V-1752-B Automatic Transfer Switch, and provide and install one (1) GE (brand name or equal) display panel in place of the existing GE EMP5200P. Additionally, the Contractor shall also perform major preventative maintenance, load bank testing, generator starter condition test, and a fuel condition test.
1.3 OBJECTIVE
Completed Testing will be done to ensure that the backup power systems seamlessly start and take the full load of the facility as intended by manufacturer and original installation. With service done to these systems the facility will be able to rely on backup generators for power during the upcoming years. Without this work being accomplished power failure will endanger animals in the aquarium and years of scientific research and samples.
