The project encompasses 32 separate locations across the base, involving the removal of approximately 252 trees (ranging from small to X-large) and trimming of 52 trees. Specific tasks include removing trees near buildings, parking lots, child development centers, parks, and critical infrastructure areas like the base's primary water source, with particular attention to trees posing safety risks such as those leaning into buildings or creating tripping hazards.
The work must be completed within 60 days after Notice to Proceed, with all activities performed between 0700-1700 Monday through Saturday, excluding federal holidays. Contractors are required to follow strict environmental and safety guidelines, including receiving an Environmental Safety brief, ensuring minimal interference with base utilities, and maintaining clean work sites. Additional requirements include stump grinding, proper backfilling, specific trimming standards (8 feet up from ground, 14 feet from roads, 3 feet from buildings), and complete debris removal.
