About this file
This file contains specifications and schedules for a construction project to replace deteriorated underground utilities at the Franklin R. Sousley VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky (Project #596-21-104). The scope includes improvements to domestic water, fire protection, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems, with five add alternates: channel improvements, water demolition, backflow preventer replacement, full depth pavement replacement, and replacement of sanitary pipes and structures.
The specifications detail requirements for project scheduling, safety protocols, and construction management in a medical environment. The contractor must use Primavera P6 software for scheduling and submit baseline, weekly look-ahead, and monthly network analysis schedules. The project requires a designated project scheduler with experience in at least three similar-sized projects. Construction activities cannot exceed 20 working days duration without prior approval. The contractor must coordinate with VA staff regarding utility shutdowns and maintain infection control measures throughout construction.
