About this file

This document is a detailed technical specification for the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center's Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Infrastructure Upgrades project (Project Number 635-21-700). The project involves comprehensive infrastructure improvements across multiple buildings (Buildings 1, 5, 19, and 21), encompassing electrical systems upgrades, communication infrastructure enhancements, physical renovations, and potential hazardous material abatement. Key technical components include upgrading electrical panels, power systems (normal and emergency), building management system interfaces, reconfiguring existing spaces, installing new data outlets and Cat 6A cabling, and assessing and upgrading fiber infrastructure campus-wide.

The specification is a 100% construction document dated February 12, 2024, containing extensive technical details across multiple divisions including electrical, communications, HVAC, and architectural work. It provides comprehensive guidelines for contractors, covering everything from quality control and safety requirements to specific installation methods for various building systems. The project aims to modernize the VA Medical Center's infrastructure to support the new Electronic Health Record Modernization system, with a focus on creating a robust, integrated technological environment that meets VA design manual requirements and supports advanced healthcare technology deployment.
