The work includes, but is not limited to:

removal and reinstallation of each door leaf complete refurbishment of upper and lower hinges replacement of bearings, seals, rings, and wear components replacement of bearing housings and main pivot pins refurbishment of spring rollers and locking devices alignment of each door leaf functional testing with the end user

Upon completion of the work, each door shall be fully operable by human force only, without mechanical assistance. The opening and closing sequence shall be smooth, continuous, and free of abnormal resistance. All door leaves shall be perfectly aligned, ensuring proper engagement of locking devices, lower wipers, and safety rollers. Attachment 01 shows pictures and lesson learned for the pilot project ASHE 22 1041 “Repair Doors in Z2”. Attachment 02 contains sample “As-Built” carpentry shop drawings related to the Pilot Project ASHE 22 1041 “Repair Doors in Z2”. These drawings are not binding and are provided only as a reference model. Although reference drawings and dimensional models of the replacement components are provided, the Contractor remains fully and solely responsible for verifying all actual dimensions of the components to be removed, refurbished, reconstructed, and reinstalled.

The Contractor shall ensure that every component conforms to the real in situ conditions and guarantees the correct and safe operation of the doors. Any discrepancies, dimensional deviations, or required adjustments shall be identified and resolved by the Contractor at no additional cost to the Government.

Because all six PAS units were originally handcrafted, each door assembly presents dimensional variations.

The Z-2 drawings are provided as a baseline for developing the required “As-Built” drawings for the remaining six PAS units.

At the end of the project, the Contractor shall provide complete carpentry shop drawings (AutoCAD DWG and PDF), including assembly drawings, ballooning, tolerances, torque values, lubrication specifications, and detailed drawings of all non-commercial components.

The Contractor shall also provide a complete O&M Manual with a clear Maintenance Plan, ensuring that preventive maintenance (lubrication, inspections, alignment checks) can be performed without cranes or special lifting devices to allow man-size stand-up maintenance.
