About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for ARFQ AGR27, a state and local contract opportunity for the State of West Virginia regarding triticale seed procurement. The document addresses clarification on the seed specification, specifically responding to a bidder's inquiry about whether the requirement for "Winter Triticale Forage Seed" refers to actual triticale seed or a physical mixture of winter wheat and winter rye seeds. The response confirms that triticale seed is required, as it is a distinct species resulting from a genetic cross between rye and wheat, rather than a mechanical combination of the two individual seed types.

No additional details regarding quantities, pricing, delivery dates, bidders' meetings, award dates, or contract terms are contained within this Q&A document.

TRITICALE SEED

QUESTIONS/ANSWERS

Q1: Winter Triticale Forage Seed must be a combination of Winter Wheat and Winter Rye Seeds,” whereas the rest of the bid does not mention a seed mix. I would like to clarify whether you are requesting actual Winter Triticale seed or a physical mixture of Winter Wheat and Winter Rye seed. If a physical seed mix is required, could you please clarify what percentage of the mix should consist of Winter Wheat and what percentage should consist of Winter Rye?

A1: Triticale seed is a genetic cross between Rye and Wheat. It is it's own species of seed. So we need Triticale.
