Instructions: The original CHAIN OF CUSTODY RECORD (CoCR), with original signatures, always follows the identified GFM. Once the relinquishing party relinquishes the GFM and the original CoCR from their physical custody to the receiving party's physical custody, the relinquishing party must maintain a copy of the CoCR with all signatures leading to the point at which the relinquishing party transfers physical custody to the receiving party; and this CoCR copy must be maintained in each relinquishing party's records until the contract is closed or terminated.
