About this file

This document is Addendum No. 6 issued by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) regarding the Metro Tunnel Cellular Service contract opportunity MTR-21-014-RV. The addendum extends the proposal due date to August 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM local time. It also provides updated contact information, noting a change in the Procurement Officer to Christie E. Williams, CPPB, Procurement Administrator. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

The Metro Tunnel Cellular Service contract opportunity seeks to provide standard cellular services to MDOT MTA customers within the Metro tunnels, which consist of two tunnels approximately 6.2 miles long, or 12.4 miles (65,000ft) of tunnel in total. Currently, there is no commercial communications infrastructure to allow MDOT MTA customers to utilize their personal cell phones while within the Metro tunnels, which is considered a safety issue.
