About this file
This is an Addendum document for a Newaygo Public Schools construction project managed by The Christman Company and designed by Tower Pinkster Architects, involving roofing and parking lot replacement at the district's Middle and High Schools. The project scope includes removing and installing a new flat roof at the High School, removing and installing a new shingle roof at the Middle School, and replacing the student parking lot. Bids are due on December 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM, with a project schedule targeting parking lot work from June 6-July 1 and roof work from June 6-August 1. Bidders are required to submit two copies of their proposal, include a 5% bid bond, and provide unit pricing for both standard and heavy-duty asphalt options.
The project has specific technical requirements, including 10 inches of aggregate base for crushed concrete, ice and water shield installation, and provisions for roof installation details. Bidders must meet safety expectations, including wearing hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing, and must be aware of potential asbestos and lead precautions. The bid includes allowances for drainage, specifying that 1.5% drainage is desired where achievable, but positive drainage is the minimum acceptable standard. Contractors will be responsible for comprehensive roofing work, including removal, installation, flashings, underlayment, and coordination with mechanical and steel contractors.
