About this file

This document is an Addendum for a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB) for a 50 MVA Transformer for the Carmen-Smith project, with RFP #24-194-G. The addendum modifies the original bidding documents, clarifying that EWEB will accept units manufactured in overseas factories, and confirming that EWEB requires a supply bond to cover the cost of paid invoices in case the contractor is unable to correct any defects. The bid submission deadline remains unchanged. The addendum constitutes a material change to the bid, and bidders must acknowledge receipt and agreement to be bound by its conditions.

The RFP requires bidders to provide a bond ability letter from their surety as part of the response package. EWEB reserves the right to visit the manufacturer's factory before signing the contract, to ensure the operation meets expected standards and can produce the transformer to the contracted specifications.

ADDENDUM # 1

50 MVA Transformer for Carmen-Smith

RFP #24-194-G

This addendum modifies the bidding document(s) for work only to the extent indicated herein. All other areas not specifically mentioned or affected by this addendum shall remain in full force. This addendum shall be added as a part of the original bidding document and shall become part of the work required.

QUESTION & ANSWER

1. Will EWEB accept units manufactured in an overseas factory?

Response: Yes. If EWEB has never done business with the manufacturer before, it is likely that EWEB would visit the factory before signing the Contract to ensure the operation meets expected standards to enable manufacturing to contracted specifications.

2. Does EWEB ask for bonding on this project?

Yes, per Section 1.16 (Required Supply Bond)) of the RFP document, EWEB seeks a supply bond that covers the cost of paid invoices in the rare case where a Contractor cannot cure a defect to bring the transformer to operable condition meeting the contracted specifications. A bond ability letter from the surety will need to be included in the response package, per the RFP document.

CLOSING DATE AND TIME

Remains unchanged.

This addendum constitutes a MATERIAL CHANGE to the bid. ITS RECEIPT BY THE BIDDER IS TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY A SIGNATURE AND RETURNING A COPY OF THE ADDENDUM WITH ITS RESPONSE OR

BY CIRCLING THE ADDENDUM NUMBER IN THE APPROPRIATE AREA ON THE BID FORM.
