QUESTION & ANSWER

1. Per 3.3.4, 3.4.1 Spec., MV Breakers 500MVA have 62KA Closing & latching current (momentary rating), Symmetrical interrupting current 23KV, short circuit current is same as Symmetrical rating. Please confirm.

Response - This is acceptable.

2. Per 3.4.3.8 Spec, portable lifter & yoke will be provided for two-high switchgear units. Please confirm.

This is to be supplied by the vendor.

3. Per 3.6.2.1 Spec, CLF MV fuse type for PTs is specified, usually we are using MERSEN, 15.5KV, 0.5E, TYPE EJ-1, PN: 9F60BHH905. Please confirm.

This is acceptable.

4. Per 3.6.2.1 Spec, CLF MV fuse type for control power transformers is specified, usually we are using:

o MERSEN, HRC primary Fuse 15.5KV. Please confirm MERSEN & the fuse current rating.

HRC fuses are acceptable. Current rating should be based on proposed CPT kVA at primary voltage.

o EATON, secondary breaker 240V, 2P, Please confirm EATON & the breaker current rating.

EATON breakers are acceptable. Current rating should be based on proposed CPT kVA at secondary voltage.

Rev 4-21-20

6. Per 3.8.2 Spec, kirk key interlock is provided with the secondary CPT breaker. Please

7. Per 4.2, the interior & exterior surfaces of indoor Metal-Clad Switchgear are painted ANSI-

61 Light Grey. Please confirm.

Interior surfaces of the switchgear should be painted white as described in this section. This is specifically in areas where terminal blocks may be placed for control wiring.

8. EXHIBIT A, strip heaters are 250Watt, connected to 240V, operated at 120V. Please

This is correct.

9. EXHIBIT A – Building Parameters specifications state the maximum dimensions of the

Control House as 20’ x 30’. Is it acceptable to propose a Control House with the dimensions of 15’6” x 30 ‘ in order to supply a single structure for shipping purposes, plus additional significant cost deductions for the testing and site work? Anything with width greater than 15’6” would entail a split multi-section building.
